Brazilian one act play “The Serpent” hits New York City this summer!

Are you excited it? THE SERPENT opens Tonight!  The only Brazilian theater company in New York City, GROUP.BR is presenting one of the most renowned Brazilian plays, “The Serpent” by acclaimed writer Nelson Rodrigues at LATEA Theater from July 12th through the 15th.

“The Serpent” tells the story of two sisters, Ligia and Guida, and their respective husbands Decio and Paulo living in the same apartment in Rio de Janeiro in the late seventies.

One couple has the perfect marriage, but the other doesn’t. The play starts with the separation of the unhappy couple and the desperation to sustain and secure the fake image of a successful relationship in a world full of hypocrisy. What follows next goes beyond human imagination.
