Minas Gerais, Mirella Afonso AKA BlaGirls has come a long way from her days of playing on dressing up her favorite dolls to become a superstar lifestyle blogger. Growing up in a supportive family, Mirella and her two older brothers were raised by their parents, who taught them the value of working together as a team always. Bringing that in mind, she made her entrance in New York in 1998 to pursue a career in what she knows and does best. She thrives on building communication with and among people; and excels at empowering them to accomplish their ambition and goals.
In pursuing her dreams in America, she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, worked for America Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Brazilian Designer, Carlos Miele, partner with Black Book magazine and was praised by Time Out.
Focusing on creating and growing publicity and positive energy in ramping its clients sales and image, BlaNYC aka BlaGirls got 3 of its clients on the Vogue’s 100 most Influential Brazilians’ (New York) list in 2010: Fashion Designer Geova Rodrigues, Beauty Entrepreneur; Fernanda Lacerda and the head of Brazilian Child Health Organization Jussara Korngold.
