11th Brazilian Film Festival of New York _ SAVE THE DATE
The Inffinito Festival Circuit arrives in New York City for the 11th
Brazilian Film Festival of New York, scheduled to take place from
the 12th to the 16th of June 2013.
Organized by Inffinito, the festival’s programming includes feature and
short films (fiction and documentaries), and a special 'GRAND FINALE'
closing Night Award Ceremony at Central Park SummerStage with
Preta Gil in concert; followed by the animation feature film Rio 2096 –
A Story of Love and Fury by Luiz Bolognesi.
New Yorkers will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the best films produced in Brazil in the last year among them Head Over Heels 2, the sequel of this successful franchise was shot in New York and features one of Brazil’s most renowned comedienne Ingrid Guimarães; Buddies, an inspiring story of 4 friends with Down Syndrome that captured the hearts of many Brazilians and led to a viral campaign for the protagonist to meet Sean Penn; and the documentary Margaret Mee and the Moonflower, tells the story of a famous English botanical artist whose work and legacy as an environmentalist in Brazil made a strong impact internationally.
The festival’s films were handpicked by Inffinito’s group of curators, comprised by some of Brazil’s best cinema personalities including filmmaker and cinematographer Walter Carvalho and Marco Altberg, the current president of the Brazilian Association of Independent TV Producers (BAITP).
