JOHNNY CASH is being honored with his own Forever stamp as part of the United States post office’s Music Icons series. Johnny’s stamp features a photo of him taken back in 1963. Designed by art director Greg Breedingthe stamp is part of the U.S. Postal Service’s Music Icon series, which also includes stamps honouring guitarist and Tejano singer Lydia Mendoza (available now) and Ray Charles, which comes out in September.
One Big concert is planned to happen in Nashville for June 5 launch. Artists set to appear, perform or speak at the launch ceremony include John Carter Cash, Carlene Carter, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Roys and Marty Stuart
The Johnny Cash stamp will be available online at usps.com/stamps.
